First things first! You need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form at <a href="https://fafsa.ed.gov" target="_blank">https://fafsa.ed.gov</a>.
It's a ''long'' form, so be sure you have time to sit and fill it all out! And perhaps have a snack nearby.

1. Be a US citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
2. Be admitted to or enrolled in an eligible major at the college.
3. Make Satisfactory Academic Progress!
4. Not owe money from a previous loan.
